Love oysters? Or ready to jump in and learn more about one of New England’s oldest, most emblematic foods? Please come out on Wednesday, Nov. 28, for our Slow Food Portland Oyster Night. Taste strains from several local growers, including Winterpoint, Dodge Cove, and Stonington; meet Rowan Jacobsen, author of “A Geography of Oysters”, and Dana Morse of the Maine Sea Grant and UMaine Extension Service; listen to live swing music with the Hot Club of Portland. $15 buys you admission and 4 oysters, so treat this as an appetizer on your way to dinner and a night out, or stay for the raw bar and wine, local beers, champagne, prosecco and martinis.
